The deadline for submitting a nomination was last Friday, 2015 Games spokesperson Alyson Gourley-Cramer says there were 345 nominations filed by the deadline.
The nominations came from throughout B.C. and from across Canada.
It will be a while before nominees find out if they have made the cut, and will be among the final 150 selected to carry the torch.
The final list of torchbearers will be announced at the end of September.
The Roly McLenahan Canada Games Torch will be lit in Ottawa on October 15, on Parliament Hill as part of Canada Games tradition, and then will make its way west, arriving in Victoria on October 17. The Torch will start moving towards P.G. with stops in the previous Canada Games Host Cities of Burnaby/New Westminster and Kamloops.
On November 4, 2014–which marks 100 days until the 2015 Games—the tour to Illuminate the North will start in Prince George at the Canada Games Plaza (formerly Civic Centre Plaza) and travel across northern BC before returning to Prince George for the 2015 Games Opening Ceremonies on February 13.
