Crown Chisels Away At Legebokoff Testimony
Prince George, B.C. – Crown Counsel is working hard to strip accused serial killer of any credibility.
Crown has taken Legebokoff through numerous statements made to investigators, statements Legebokoff now admits were not true.
He told investigators he and Loren Leslie had not had sex ,but in his testimony yesterday told the court he and Loren had had sex twice on the night she died.
He told investigators he had found her body in a “big f’n pool of blood” but in his testimony yesterday said she dropped out of site in front of his truck, a spot where there was no evidence of blood.
The matter of Legebokoff’s credibility follows his testimony yesterday that three mystery men he would only name as X Y and Z were responsible for the murders of Jill Stuchenko, Cynthia Maas and Natasha Montgomery. He has refused to identify the three men, a decision which has resulted in Justice lenn Parrett citing Legebokoff with criminal contempt of court. Justice Parrett says he will deal with the matter after the murder trial has concluded.
Crown Counsel’s Joseph Temple noted that the story about the three men was similar to that initially told to investigators when Legebokoff was pulled over on highway 27 . At that time, Legebokoff said he had been hunting with a friend, that the friend shot a deer, that he had clubbed the animal to death and slit its throat and that his friend took the carcass and drove away.
In the case of the murder of Jill Stuchenko, Legebokoff has testified it was Mr. X who killed her, and X and Y took away the body, he simply provided the murder weapon and disposed of her personal items. In the case of the murder of Cynthia Maas, Mr. X delivered the first blow, and Mr. Y would “finish her off” with the picaroon Legebokoff had supplied. In the Natasha Montgomery murder, again, it was Mr. X who delivered the first blow, and Mr. Z slit her throat with a knife Legebokoff provided. All three of those killings happened in Legebokoff’s apartment.
