Prince George, B.C. – Over $5,400 and a cell phone used in the drug trade have been forfeited to the provincial government.
It stems from an incident on August 31, 2012 when members of the Prince George RCMP’s Crime Reduction team arrested two people driving a stolen car.
Corporal Craig Douglass says the male was known to police and believed to be involved in the drug trade though charges against him were not approved.
However he says the Crime Reduction Team elected to apply to the BC Civil Forfeiture Office for forfeiture of the money and cell phone because it was believed they were used in the drug trade.
He says this action was successful and the money and phone was recently forfeited to the BC Government.
