More Out of Province Firefighters Arriving
Prince George, B.C.- More out of province wildfire fighting personnel will soon be arriving in Prince George.
80 sustained action firefighters, four team leaders and one agency representative, all from Ontario will be coming to Prince George where they will be briefed and then sent to fires in the Province.
There are 152 active wildfires in the province, and the fresh crew will give B.C. personnel a break.
The crew from Ontario could be here for up to 2 weeks, and will join more than 1250 provincial staff, 810 B.C. contractors, more than 295 other put of province personnel, 74 from Australian and two from Alaska who are already working on fires in B.C.
Heading into the long weekend, people heading out for a last camping trip are reminded to be fire safe as many areas of the province still have fire danger ratings of high to extreme.
