Prince George, B.C. – A familiar face at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George is moving on.

In an exclusive to 250 News,  Executive Director External Relations Randall Heidt confirms after close to six years at the college he’s accepted a new role as vice-president of Strategic Initiatives with North Island College in Courtenay.

“While the family and I are excited about this new adventure on Vancouver Island we will miss many of the great friends and colleagues we made in Prince George. It is a special community.”

Heidt follows former CNC president John Bowman to the Island who joined North Island College as President last year.

“John is a huge reason I’m leaving having worked together at CNC. We both share the same leadership philosophy.”

Prior to his time at CNC, Heidt spent ten years at the Prince George Citizen as city editor, online editor and news editor.

He will remain on the job until the end of September and starts his new position November 3.

Heidt says the search for his successor hasn’t begun yet.
