Will Schools be Ready to Open Should a Last Minute Deal be Struck?
Prince George, B.C. – Schools will open on time in Prince George Wednesday should an 11th hour deal be struck between the BCTF & the provincial government.
That from School District 57 board chairperson Sharel Warrington.
“They will open – it will probably not be the most smooth start because it takes a while to get things up to speed but definitely they will be open for students.”
A former teacher herself, Warrington acknowledges teachers usually have their classes prepared the week in advance of school opening.
“Yes, teachers traditionally have been prepared well in advance and had their classrooms ready. But I know everyone will put their best foot forward (to ensure classes start on time).”
All of this provided of course mediator Vince Ready is able to help both sides broker a deal.
“If anyone can do this Vince Ready can as we’ve heard. He’s a very able person.”
