Prince George, B.C. – The 41st annual Labour Day Classic is underway.
This year roughly 110 adult runners are taking part in the 17 mile, 8.5 mile, and 5 km races plus 30 kids in the 1 km fun run.
Race Director Dennis Staussfogel says the 17 mile run is the largest in Northern, B.C. and one with an impressive history noting Terry Fox ran this race in 1979 as a precursor to his Marathon of Hope.
He calls the weather conditions today favourable.
“It’s a good weather day. It’s cool for the runners which is really good and there’s no rain which is also good.”
