Area Restriction Eased on Chelaslie Fire
Prince George, B.C. – The provincial Wildfire Management Branch has now amended an area restriction order that’s been in effect near a fire burning south of the Chelaslie River, including sections of Entiako Provincial Park, to increase public access to those areas and reopen some forest service roads.
Under the amended order use of forested areas west of Chedakuz creek to Tweedsmuir Park and south of Natalkuz Lake to the Blackwater River (the West Road) will remain restricted to protect the safety of firefighting personnel and the public. This area includes the Kluskus Forest Service Road west of the 118-km marker.
A map of the amended area restriction is available online at: http://bit.ly/1qui3wr
Although this map shows the fire perimeter, there may be sections within the boundaries which have not been impacted at this time.
BC Parks has issued an evacuation order for all cabin owners in Entiako Provincial Park and any persons within the park. For more information on the closure go to the BC Parks website.
