Storm The Hill Event at Northern Sport Centre

Sunday, September 7, 2014 @ 4:16 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The Northern Sport Centre at UNBC is the place to be today if you want to take a long, and we do mean long, run.

The third annual 2014 Storm the Hill, a multi-sport endurance event, goes from 8 am to 12:30pm and features three race options. There’s a 5k run, 10k run and a sprint duathlon, which includes a 5k run followed by a 10k bike ride followed by another 5k run.

You can compete individually or as a team, and even if you have not already registered you may do so at the reception desk at the Northern Sport Centre. The registration fee structure is $58 for the 5k, $58 for the 10k, $79 for the Duathlon and if you’re doing the Duathlon as a team its $52 per team member.

There’s a big athletes village at the NSC parking lot, t-shirts, prizes and a barbecue after the race.

Seems like a lot of money to go for a run,.

I don’t think anybody is forcing you to go, Palopu.

I have no intent on going. Just making an observation.

The small field of runners is testament to the fees being too high.

Palopu, your observation is right. The price for this event is pretty steep. Hopefully their race “swag” was good.
