Recyling Reminder Issued for Quesnel Residents
Quesnel, B.C. -Quesnel residents are being asked to leave at least two feet between their garbage and recycling containers.
Multi-Material BC & the City of Quesnel issued the reminder this morning.
Communications Supervisor Carol Anderson with the City of Quesnel says it’s forcing garbage truck drivers to get out of their trucks to separate the two.
“Recycling boxes can be placed beside, or on top of, each other, and corrugated cardboard that does not fit in the box with other papers and fibres can be tied in bundles and placed between the recycling boxes,” adds Anderson.
This is also an issue in Prince George where the city’s Associate Director of Public Works Gina Layte-Liston is now asking residents to place their blue bins and automated garbage cans on opposite sides of their driveways.
Curbside recycling was introduced in both cities last week.
