Pair Busted For Street Racing
Monday, September 8, 2014 @ 4:04 PM
Prince George- Two young drivers have both had their license suspended for a period of 15 days, had their vehicle impounded for seven days, and have been slapped with a $368.00 dollar fine for Street racing.
The pair, 19 and 21 years old, were spotted by a RCMP officer, allegedly racing down Ospika near Tyner Boulevard, last Saturday, just before 11pm.
Police say both young men were the owners of the vehicles they were driving.

This is what bugs me about this legislation. They were “allegedly” racing. Yet they have already been tried, convicted and sentenced.
When they are caught in the act, why do the news organisations still say allegedly? And only a 15 day suspension???
Give more, they say “allegedly” guilty because they still have the right to appeal, like anyone charged with any offence, and attempt to get the charges overturned… if they succeed they are then considered innocent. Stinks? maybe, but it applys to everyone so one can draw their own opinions I guess. It is not that they were given any right that everyone else isn’t also entitled to.
There is a good point here however… they won’t be driving until their court date for appeal, or 15 days wichever comes first.
Hopefully, the court visit will be within 15 days and the judge decides an appropriate penalty would be in the 15 month (or more) range. I could have been on that road after 11 pm on Saturday night and my life as well as my passengers could have been at severe risk – lucky I was elsewhere.
no one was “street racing” just so you know … they were doing about 15, 20 km over right behind each other not trying to over take one another. that’s driving over the speed limit which ALL of have done at some point or another. just because they were “flashy cars” people assume …
They could have come across Constable Revenue. I’ve seen him around lately with his one person speed trap. A few years ago he gave me a ticket for going through a green light.
Really? Not speeding? I heard them whiz by close to Ferry Ave. 15 to 20 km over the speed limit does not sound like that!
“I saw a bunch of kids hanging out by the pine centre mall liquor store around then. Had to be one of these guys, by the sound of the revving honda exhaust they all thought they were Paul Walker or Vin Diesel. They might end up with the same fate as Paul Walker if they continue down the path they are on.
unclejohn, you have some insight here ? Friends of yours? You just happened to witness this occurrence ? You waved the flag at the starting line a couple of blocks back perhaps? Please, do tell
unclejohn
please tell me where it says they had flashy cars….or that they wre running at high speed one behind the other…
do you kow something that wasn’t said here?
I never once “assumed” anything I based my comments on fact and what was said by the article.
Please enlighten me…..
See – we get in trouble for “assuming” but he police “assume” they were racing and the entire sentencing hearing is on the side of the road by a jury of one. Complete BS. That’s not to condone street racing but they should have their day in court. Suppose you are speeding and some kid flies by you. Cop looks up and sees you side by side. Are you racing? You may not have even seen the other guy till he passed you.
Uh, bcracer (imnoone), you take everything the police and 250 news says as facts ?
Old Jedi mind trick. Cop asks first guy if he was racing and he says no. Then he goes over to second guy asks the same question. Second guy says no too! Cop says that’s not what your buddy said. So which is it and don’t lie now. Ah shucks we were racing!
19 and 21 year old aren’t the brightest stars ion the sky.
Another news story said an Impreza and some kind of Mitsubishi. So they were racing!
I’m hoping it’s the two that visit across the street from me. It might be quiet for a change.
The 3 off duty cops on their bikes that were racing out on hwy 16 west got off with nothing.
