Legebokoff Jury To Resume Deliberations This Morning
Prince George, B.C. – It was a long day for the 8 men and four women who are the jurors in the multiple murder trial of Cody Alan Legebokoff.
They started their deliberations on the four counts of first degree murder just before noon yesterday, and called it a night just after 10 p.m.
This morning, they will resume their deliberations, and hope to have answers to questions they have posed to the court.
Court was called into session for a couple of hours last night to respond to three questions from the jury. The jurors asked for clarification on a point of law concerning sexual assault, access to the Crown’s address to the jury as well as access to the testimony of Cody Alan Legebokoff.
Justice Glen Parrett called upon the jury to be more specific on the request for testimony as he outlined the subject they were seeking was discussed in direct and cross examination.
He told the jurors he hoped to offer more clarity this morning on their question about sexual assault .
The request for a transcript of the Crown’s address to the jury cannot be provided as there is no transcript, however, Justice Parrett has offered to make the recordings of the closing arguments by both the Crown and Defence available to the jury.
Court will resume just before 10 this morning, so Justice Parrett can have a discussion with Counsel before bringing the jury in to provide the more detailed answers to their questions.
