Prince George, B.C. – One person has been arrested , and a search warrant executed , after police cleared a two block area in the 1500 block of Fir St today, to search a home.
At about 1:20 today, the residence , which is well known to police and had previous ties to organized crime, was surrounded . Homes in the immediate area were evacuated as a precaution , and the 1500 and 1600 blocks of Fir were blocked off to traffic.
At around 4pm. a controlled drugs search warrant was executed with the assistance of the North District Emergency Response Team.
The residents were then allowed to return home, when police believed it was safe.

“…the residence, which is well known to police and had previous ties to organized crime, was surrounded…”
I guess the neighbors are real happy reading this. The story reads more like a PR exercise for the cops than a real bust. Clearing a 2 block area means their supervisor has little confidence in the SWAT team’s ability to take down a house…
Safety of others cowboy!
@contractor
Perhaps you’ve never toured a meth lab? Depending on what was inside the house could blow up, be booby trapped, or could just be housing unstable people with weapons. I’d rather not sit inside a neighbouring home while that one was being dealt with.
