Prince George, B.C.- It was an emotional end to a  lengthy trial.

Family members gasped then wept as the verdict on each count was  declared, Cody Alan Legebokoff was found guilty of   first degree murder in the deaths of Jill Stuchenko, Natasha Lyn Montgomery, Cynthia Maas and Loren Leslie.

Judy Maas, who attended each and every day of the trial, eagle feather in hand,  listening to details of  her sister’s murder said  speaking to the media after the verdict was an opportunity for family  to  let others know  who their murdered loved ones really were ““They weren’t just a drug addict,  they weren’t  just a sex trade worker” said Maas through  tears, “They were loved and missed.”

LouAnn Montgomery, mother of Natasha Lyn Montgomery (whose remains have yet to be found)  called on the public  to  keep  their eyes open, “We don’t know where she is,” said LouAnn before breaking into tears .

Doug Leslie, father of 15 year old Loren Leslie,  offered thanks to the RCMP  for  making that arrest on a snowy highway 27 on the night of November 27th in 2010 and said Cody Legebokoff “should never walk the streets again”.

“All we really wanted  was to  get justice” said Judy Maas “even though my sister is gone,  and we will never get  her back through this, we have a sense of justice , it was first degree murder, and we are really happy with that.”

Maas thanked the jury  for their verdict,  and Justice  Parrett “He is the best judge ever.”

RCMP North District Operations Officer, Inspector Peter Haring, offered a thank you to the families of the victims “For their  support, strength and patience through this entire case.”

Inspector Haring says the RCMP remain committed to “investigating the various cases of missing and murdered in B.C.”

One less bastard off the streets for good!!!

How encouraging to see a positive outcome from the justice system. The jury should be commended for their work as well as the officer who arrested the murderer. Here is a good example where an officer’s suspicions were justified.

If I could “like” a comment, would like the cutbank55 one. This officer needs a major comendation for this.

I am a bit surprised in how quick this trial lasted and how quick a verdict came back. It is a great result. Justice for the victims.

Congratulations for the constable for acting on his instincts.

A quote from a police officer that had hunted the Jackle seems appropriate here:
“He needs to be lucky everyday. We need to be lucky once.”

Prince George is all over the news for the murders of this youngest serial killer in Canada. Talking about spending money to create an Image for Prince George.

Enjoy the pen Cody.

I don’t even want to think about what might have happened if that officer hadn’t come across this person by lucky coincidence.

Good riddance. The last thing your victims saw was your face. Lets hope the law abiding citizens this is the last time we see your face. Your victims will never see another birthday. I just hope all the rest of your birthdays are behind bars.

The cop was doing his job. Well done officer. Now we get to feed and house this loser for the rest of his life!

Hang HIM.

Now he will get X (Y, and Z) years in jail. Scary thing is these are the ones they know of. Was there more? Chalk one up for the courts.

May these women now rest in peace and may the families sleep a little better tonight.
