Girl Raises Money to Help Sick Kids – Update
Prince George, B.C. – Roughy two weeks later, and seven year old Audrey Warren has finally realized the fruits of her labour.
You’ll remember back on August 30, 250 News reported Audrey had set up a lemonade stand at the corner of 3rd and Dominion Street to help raise money to buy toys for kids receiving treatment in the pediatric ward at UHNBC.
Audrey was well aware of the need because her five year old brother Evan suffers from systemic juvenile arthritis and requires infusions every three weeks at hospital.
At the time she said she was doing it” because I thought it would be a nice idea to help kids like my brother that have to have things like shots in their arms and legs and other stuff like that.”
Well earlier this week Audrey presented a check for $1,012 to Evan’s nurse Raandi Nesbitt and Spirit of the North CEO Judy Neiser.
“These funds will go directly to purchase new “give aways,” says Neiser.
She says they will go towards the purchase of hot wheel cars and new video games.
“This is an amazing story of someone identifying a great cause and taking action” adds Neiser.
For more information, or to donate funds to support healthcare in the North, Neiser encourages people to contact the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation office at 250-565-2515.
