Electoral Boundaries Commission Arrival in PG Delayed
Prince George, B.C. – Those wanting to provide input on the area, boundaries and names of BC’s electoral boundaries were to have the chance to share that with the Electoral Boundaries Commission in Prince George today but the sessions are up in the air.
There were to be two sessions in Prince George today at the Signature Sandman Inn (2990 Recplace Dr), but one has been cancelled and the other is not yet confirmed.
The first session scheduled for 11:00 has been cancelled because of travel delays, the second session , set for 3:00 is not yet confirmed as the Commission is not yet certain it will arrive in time.
According to the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act, the commission may make proposals to the Legislative Assembly to increase the number of electoral districts from 85 to 87.
In addition to that the Act states that ridings in the “North Region” cannot be reduced from how many ridings currently exist (8).

The commission is scheduled to arrive in Quesnel (Best Western Plus Tower at 8:30 a.m.) and Williams Lake (Ramada Convention Centre at 2 p.m.) tomorrow however, those times may need to be re-confirmed because of the travel delays being experienced today.
