Prince George, B.C.- Chief Lake Road on the northern edge of Prince George is closed between Mountain View and Foothills because of a gas leak.
RCMP have been called to assist with traffic control and are expected to be on scene for at least 3 hours while repairs are made.
While full details are not available, sources tell 250News the main gas line was ruptured just east of Mountain View during an excavation.
There is no indication on when the road might reopen.
While there is no official detour, an area farmer is allowing some traffic through his property.

I hope the farmer received a big thank you from from drivers. The only other ways around I know are a hour for one, hour and a half for the other.
