Cougars Make it Pink in the Rink
Prince George, B.C. – For a second consecutive season, the Prince George Cougars are pleased to partner with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure for ‘Pink in the Rink’ Night, which will be held tonight when the Prince George Cougars host the Kelowna Rockets.
During the second intermission there will be a Pink Chuck-A-Puck contest. The winner of Pink Chuck-A-Puck will receive: four lower bowl tickets to a Vancouver Canucks game, a one night stay at a Vancouver hotel and a $200 gas card all brought to you by Finning. The second place winner receives a Pink CIBC Run for the Cure Gift Basket. Also, all fans who wear PINK to Saturday’s game will be eligible to win an autographed Pink Prince George Cougars jersey.
That’s not all.
During the game, the Cougars will be sporting special Pink jerseys proudly sponsored by Northland Dodge. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so starting at 12:01 AM on October 1st and running through until Midnight on October 31st, the game-worn jerseys from PINK in the Rink night will be up for auction online at http://pgcougars.com/page/jersey-auction – Bids start at $100 each, and will be updated daily. You can bid as many times as you’d like for your favorite Prince George Cougar player’s jersey. All proceeds from the jersey auction will go towards the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
“Funds raised from ‘Pink in the Rink’ at the Cougars Game enables the Foundation to continue to invest in innovative research, health education and advocacy programs that aim to reduce the incidence of breast cancer, lower mortality rates and support women and their families who have been affected by this disease,” said Melissa Veregin, Co-Run Director, Fundraising of the Prince George CIBC Run for the Cure site. “This evening would not be possible without the generosity of the PG Cougars, Northland Dodge, Finning and the fans who are helping us to create a future without breast cancer.”
“It’s a privilege for us to be able to partner with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation for this outstanding initiative,” adds Prince George Cougars Vice President – Business, Andy Beesley. “Not only does ‘Pink in the Rink’ night provide a unique experience for our fans, but it also helps spread awareness about cancer prevention and research within the City of Prince George.”
The Prince George Cougars and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would like to recognize Northland Dodge who have generously sponsored the PINK jerseys again this season.
