CIBC’s Run for the Cure Just a Week Away
Prince George, B.C. – CIBC’s annual Run for the Cure will depart from Prince George City Hall seven days from now.
Canada’s largest single-day volunteer-led event dedicated to the breast cancer cause will take place in 65 communities across the country and will include more than 300 participants in Prince George alone.
Communications and Promotions Coordinator in PG Shari MacLellan says they hope to build on last year’s event.
“In 2013, 350 walkers and runners participated in the 1km or 5km event helping raise $80,786 in PG alone. Across Canada participants raised a total of $27 million.”
She says funds raised support initiatives in prevention, early detection, treatment, research and emerging issues in the health care workforce and says all proceeds raised for the CIBC Run for the Cure in BC will remain in the BC/Yukon region.
