Prince George, B.C. – Over 50 people took part in PG’s first ever kite festival at Rainbow Park this afternoon.

It was organized by a group of international leadership students from the College of New Caledonia.

All from Weifang China, the students say the goal was to foster cultural awareness between people of different origins.

“We want to bring Chinese culture to Prince George so people know us and work with us in harmony,” said Youy Cao.

They note an international festival of kites is held each year in their hometown and say the kites represent different good wishes and hope.
