Wright Creek Bear Update

Tuesday, September 30, 2014 @ 3:37 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Conservation Officer , Gary Van Spengen, says the three Grizzly bears that were involved in the deaths of two cattle in the area south of the Salmon River, in the Wright Creek district , north of Prince George have not been  moved or destroyed.

Van Spengen says the bears, a sow and her two cubs have moved on, and “we have not had any contact with them as of recent.”

The bears came to light in mid September after a rancher reported the deaths of two 500 lb calves on his property.

In one case the bear was able to kill one of the calves within 100 meters of the buildings on the farm.
