Cougars Acquire Babych From Hitmen

Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars have acquired 1997-born North Vancouver forward Cal Babych from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for a seventh round pick in the WHL Bantam Draft.
Selected in the fourth round (84th overall) of the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft, Babych checks in at 5’10”, 182 pounds and has dressed in 42 games in the WHL. His totals last season, three goals, six points and 11 penalty minutes in 41 games. This season in one game, Babych recorded three assists. His career plus-minus is +4.
Babych is the son of Dave Babych, who played 1195 NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets, Hartford Whalers, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers and Los Angeles Kings. Cal will join the Cougars in Vancouver Sunday against the Giants.
