Prince George, B.C. – A typical fall day with accompanying weather didn’t put a damper on the Junk in the Trunk Sale at the CN Centre parking lot on Saturday.

Rachael Ryder with the Regional District and Terri McClymont, Executive Director of REAPS, had organization of the semi-annual event well in hand as people wanting to sell, trade or give away unwanted items set up stalls in the lot for a $10 donation to REAPS.

The event is meant to encourage re-use and recycling of materials so they don’t end up in the landfill. Those setting up stalls were asked to take large items with them when they left. And they also had the option of donating items to AIMHI, everything from books to clothing, electronics to lamps, housewares to tools.

Ryder told us that following the last event a 5-ton cube van packed to the roof with items was given to AIMHI for their use.

The Junk in the Trunk sales is held twice yearly in April and October.
