The man is an embarrassment!

I agree. Anybody but Harper, but geez Trudeau is not really an option. This guy does not take his politics seriously, is not a serious thinker, and has a hidden totalitarian streak in him that would come out the minute he was entrusted with any power.

I have never voted ndp in my life, but at the moment Mulcair seems to be the only one with leadership qualities and we all know in party politics who the leader of the party is becomes very important. Problem is we get nutty ideology and public union reps as candidates at the local level and that hurts their chances of gaining the support of a broad spectrum of voters.

I no longer think Trudeau would make a good Prime Minister, it would be a disaster, but Harper has so completely destroyed the conservative brand in Eastern Canada that all Trudeau has to do is sit back and become Prime Minister.

Let the middle east fight their own battles. We need to look after our own problems at home first. If/when these scumbags start trouble in Canada we can give them both barrels. Don’t want to lose your head? Don’t go there.

What a sick cartoon, media just sings whatever government spins. The point is that bombing these nuts won’t stop them also but will kill a lot of innocent people as ISSIS use’s them as shields. Also when are boys come home in body bags and their families are cut short by this Harper Government as been the case what do we say then? what do we say when 6 months turns into a year? This group must be stopped no question but by who?? the US armed them in the beginning they destabilized the Countries as they have done throughout the world in the name of oil, this will be a very costly war and no accountability

Sad thing is these guys are here in Canada and openly say what they are going to do when their numbers get big enough. Just a matter of time till Canadians get the serious the threat really is.

Eagleone. Seems your dislike of Harper impedes your ability to think straight.

Not sure what you mean by **destroyed the Conservative brand in Eastern Canada** however I would say that Mulrooney took care of that job, and if anything Harper is slowly building the brand back up.

Lets not forget that Harper was the first Government elected without significant support from Quebec. In other words he could have formed a Government without any seats in Quebec. Quite an accomplishment I would say.

Most people who **knock** Harper never voted for him in the first place, so if they continue to vote against him, I’m sure he could care less.

The Liberals will have their hands full fighting the NDP for the official opposition position in the next election, and therefore they will split the vote three ways, and Harper wins.

Have a nice day.

I bet his C18 is bigger than Harper’s LOL

“…these guys are here in Canada and openly say what they are going to do when their numbers get big enough.”

Even if the above is true, which seems unlikely, sending six bombers to Iraq doesn’t sound like the means to prevent some kind of insurrection or terrorism on Canadian soil. And even if it is some kind of a solution, aircraft never won a war or seriously demoralized an enemy. It’s just pouring money down a rathole. We wasted $14 billion in Afghanistan with no long term benefit; when will we learn?

media just sings whatever government spins

Now that is funny since the media has been all goo goo ga ga over whip it out boy. He sure screws up with a script. I guess with the media the shine is coming off the shining pony.

Wow. Regardless what side of the debate you fall on this is a pretty offensive cartoon.

Seamut, you miss the point not so much about the Liberal leader as with the content of the cartoon also Harpers agenda to create a Canada that resembles just another US lap dog with no consideration for anyone or anything.

Nope!

Palopu, Harper has the lowest approval rating of any Prime Minister in Canadian history with over 70% opposed, so yes good luck in the next election. No doubt they will win PG as this town drinks his cool-aid of one liners and Harpers ability to generate a hypothetical scare that is worse than the real thing (Harper himself).

The rest of the country meanwhile has caught on that this is a guy that will say anything to gain power and then do as he damn well pleases once elected pushing the hidden agenda he so successfully accused his opponents of harboring.

Harper is losing Ontario and now has an actively hostile provincial government in that province, he has lost Newfoundland and Labrador for at least a generation, and might be lucky to win a couple of seats in Montreal of all Quebec… so essentially he needs to try and win with the west alone, and nobody has ever done that mathematically impossible feat before.

If Trudeau wasn’t just about power he would smarten up and allow for strategic voting next election so that Canada could rid itself of a Prime Minister that calls the worlds foremost war criminals Canada’s greatest allies. A guy that stripped the country of environmental regulations for his oil buddies, and supports the communist party of China over the Canadian constitution and our traditional allies in Hong Kong.

Here is a thought…why should we (Canada) and the west (USA et al) be so hell bent on bombing an entire region into oblivion? Do you think these bombs are going to discriminate between ISIS and innocent civilians? Why are the neighbouring Arab / Muslim countries not lining up their armies against ISIS? I would think that they are most threatened by the terrorist advance, yet they sit blithely on the side lines and wait for the west to send our young men and women to fight their battle. In order to stop ISIS it’s going to take boots on the ground, and at last count the neighbouring countries have at least 500,000 soldiers immediately available to go to battle. Here’s some food for thought…the neigbouring countries want the west / usa to eliminate ISIS, while they watch from afar, so that afterwards they can continue to condemn the west for their own political reasons. In a nutshell…if the Arab / Muslim nations won’t fight ISIS we should keep our young men and women safe on this side of the pond!

After the fall of Kobane in Syria Turkey border, ISIS will target regions with Arabic speakers in Turkey, our NATO partner. It is better to battle ISIS in Syria than in Turkish territory and there are hundreds of Canadians and Europeans among the rank and file of ISIS and it is better to fight them in Syria and Iraq than allowing them to take root in Syria and come back to Canada with their explosives.

The chickens will eventually come home to roost and the monster that west created in Afghanistan and Chechnia to fight Russian war machine has turned against its former cold war Allies. In the hindsight, it was a mistake to train the ‘Mojahedin’ in Afghanistan and the Mojahedin database (i.e. al-Qaede in Arabic) has now turned into the world’s most powerful and brutal terrorist organization.

“B: The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I [Brzezinski] wrote to President Carter. We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. … B: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war? … B: “Nonsense!”

Yes indeed nonsense, prof Brzezinski.

Eagleone, trudeau admires the Chinese dictatorship and has stated that. His answer to the budget is that it will balance itself and is a dictatorial to his own party. Without his ptewritten script he is intellectually lost.

There are rumours of dissent in his party, they are not happy.

Harper said you wouldn’t recognise Canada when he was done with it. ☻

Innocent people are being massacred in the most horrific ways. It makes me wonder if there is anything the left will fight for?

Best bet for Canada would be a minority government or coalition government with none of them having the power Harper welds today. Historically the best governance we have had is with minority governments. If the ndp can’t take Quebec then maybe a rise of the bloc would help.

Canada with five strong parties might be able to break the strangle hold the vested interest party insiders have on our political system.

I agree 100%! It is not our responsibility to attempt to drag the barbaric medieval attitudes and customs of those people into the 21st century. They have to learn the it hard way by fighting each other until they have had enough and see that peace is better than war. We stay out of it and far away from it.

Princegeorge, you realize the people dying are innocent men, women , and children right? This isn’t two armies fighting each other, it’s a terrorist group slaughtering innocents. Your comments make me sad for our future.

Matthew 26:52 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Its easy to find a quote in the Bible to support any argument. That’s why its a good idea not to use it.

The problems in the Middle East are all about OIL, always has been and always will be. The satanizing of all people in the Middle Eastern Countries makes it easier for the Western Democracy’s to carry on their exploitation of the oil.

Once the oil is gone so to will the Americans and their allies be gone.

This is really not a complicated issue. Read your bloody history books.

Ecclesiastes is Old Testament, part of the bible Christians share with Muslims and Jews. Trudeau is being a better Christian here than Harper is.
