Prince George- City Crews are on the scene of a water main break on Massey Drive. The main broke just after 2.30pm. pouring water into the bottom of a nearby apartment building.
Police have closed off the street while crews attempt to repair the damage.
This is in the same area where earlier this summer, the water main broke.

Wasn’t this where the sink hole was?
So what’s up with all the water mains breaking lately? Did they upgrade or rebuild the pumps feeding the system so it’s now higher pressure and flow? Is the pressure fluctuating to cause these failures ? It’s very suspicious that they should all be breaking at the same time.
My bad …..just noticed the last sentence Hee Hee.
Should be changed into an outdoor pool since the city closed down Watrous St swimming pool.
Nice city work on the last main, in the exact same location. lol
All the water mains in this town are ancient, but hey.. keep raising money for the winter games.. you know.. the important stuff like all the people who will come once, and never come back.

We’ve always had water main breaks. What’s different is that this site reports on every one of them.
Good thing that buildings on stilts
Because JohnnyBelt…..it’s happening to frequently in the last 1yr or 2
time to upgrade the system, it’s like buying a house, if you don’t have a solid foundation you have a peice of %&@t.
I had two water main breaks on my street about ten years ago. Never made the news.
Yep, that is exactly where the first break was. Nice sink hole, again! drove through there on my way home from work and it had stopped spewing, but Winnipeg was wet all the way to 17th. The nicely repaved road, with line painting etc. blown to smithereens. As I passed by the road works teams were arriving….. Round Two!
Money for the PAC? Screw dat! Replace our aging sewer and water mains, please.
I would like to hear the explanation as to why it failed again.
Stand by more breaks to come…
there are areas of town that are older than these pipes and needed work years ago.
Get used to it! These mains will be breaking more and more often. No money to fix them though it all went to the winter games.
Must be faulty materials JB. Couldn’t be the expert worker brotherhood ;)
Prince George Girl. Your dating yourself if you can remember the Watrous St. Swimming pool.
JB we haven’t always had this many so close together.
Wasn’t there a garbage dump around there somewhere near Parkwood. could be landfill settling or something like that.
I think the landfill was between Masich Place and PGSS, so don’t know if that’s a factor.
The last sink hole was a old water run off drain if I am correct not a water main break. that is why it was a sink hole not a flood
AWE palopu…………I’m only 20 the same age as you…how can you say that LOL
