Retired Teacher/Counsellor Runs for School Board
Prince George, B.C. – After a 35 year career in the education sector as a teacher/counsellor Bob Harris has decided to seek a School Trustee position in District 57.
“My experience might be useful. A number of people encouraged me to run,” says Harris.
The retiree says the majority of his career was spent in the north including 10 years at Kelley Road Secondary School and 19 years at the College of New Caledonia.
He was also an appointee to the BC Council of Admissions and Transfer for two terms and has served as chair of a Parent Advisory Council and believes those experiences will come in handy if elected.
“I am in a unique position to make a positive contribution to the deliberations of the School Board.”
He’s running on six issues including: educational leadership, student achievement, resource allocation, behavioural expectations, positive parental involvement and equal access to opportunities.
