That what you call;
Putting er in da WEEDS! Lol
Seriously though. There are waaaay too many morons on the roads these days.

If I may add to that….way to many morons causing accidents on the roads these days……”oh oh ….I can text, shave my legs and pluck my eyebrows, and sip my latte while driving at 80 kph”.

No, I don’t think you can…….

Not even funny. This car was struck by some A hole and sent into “da weeds” you’d better hope that it’s not one of your family members.

hey hey hey lildigger and digitus impudicus. Do you guys know exactly what happened? A friend of mine careened out of control on ospika a few years ago and it was because a dog dove out of the back of a pickup and rolled in front of his car. The dog lived but his car was smashed to hell. He said it was a knee-jerk reaction not to run over the dog so he swerved on ice and the dogs owner was fined. But to just notice a car in the weeds could also be attributed to the massive jaywalkers we have in this town or many other such factors. Just because these poor examples of journalism tell almost nothing in their poor excuse for reporting does not give us license to make up and assume everything we want. I blame poor reporting for the horrible comments people throw at sometimes innocent people. Maybe this driver saved someones life?

Sorry, but if a dog rolls out of the back of someone’s pickup in front of me, I’m running over the dog rather than risking the lives of my family or others on the road.

I arrived there around 6:30 PM and there were already some lights of emergency vehicles there, but I didn’t realize there has been another accident there. I have been 3 times to superstore over the past month and 2 accidents in that HW16 over the period.

The driver has gone into pavement and people should drive more carefully especially at the time after sunset. If a dog or something rolls out of the back of someone’s pickup, I would say I will try avoiding hitting it by instinct and reflex.

If johnnybelt rolls out of the back of a pickup in front of me, hands down I’m running over him before risking the lives of my family, the dog, or passing squirrels.

I am with you hardcandy about Johnnybelt . I believe people sometimes are forced to react to situations so quickly when driving, because everyone places so much faith in the way vehicles are built with all the extra safety features. Everyone and everything is happening way to fast out in the world today.

Some jackass ran the red light. There are way too many people with low IQ’s, too much testosterone and driver’s licenses. We need to made it tougher to get and keep a license.

I’m wearing pants and this is my opinion.

If something fell out if a vehicle that you were behind and you didn’t have to w to react then that would simply mean that you were following too closely and or travelling at too great s rate of speed.
Pretty simple.
The rules of the road are never followed.

That looks to be a late 90’s early 21st century Cadillac. A terribly poorly manufactured automobile btw.
Who drives such a car?
Usually someone over 70 years old.

At least the tree was spared…

Looks like a pretty nice car to me – you can park that car in my driveway any time you want .. looks better than my RV.
FYI – the younger generation like the old vehicles.

Hm. Looks like I touched a nerve.

Lildigger pretty much nailed it.

Luckily that car didn’t fly through the parking lot of Superstore! Hate that intersection and ya I know it’s not the road. Highways needs to change the left turn signals onto Ferry to a NO GO after the light changes to green for straight through traffic. Whoever thought up how it currently is needs a slap.

I agree with Lildigger, but I would add one thing. If a dog, moose, deer, whatever, does happen to jump out in front of you, or fall out of a pick up truck, try and clip it just a little bit so that it’s covered under your comprehensive and doesn’t count against your safe driving discount. If you swerve and go into the ditch, you have no proof an animal caused it, so just hit it a little bit, not enough to kill, just enough to leave some hair and blood.

Now, if it’s another vehicle, try and clip it too. That way you can prove they were at fault, and not only will it cost you nothing for insurance, but you can sue them/ICBC for lost wages, pain and suffering, etc. You go into the ditch, they’ll just keep on driving and you’ll be left to look after yourself. So serve if you must, but clip the other car, just a bit, enough to leave some paint on your vehicle and and their vehicle, so the RCMP can prove they were there.

Ski51 – great advice. If everyone had the ability to “control” an accident that precisely though then there probably wouldn’t be any accidents lol

ski51……Do you realize that every year ICBC looks at what they have forked out for accidents and that is how they come up with costs for insurance? So you purposely clip someone when you could have avoided it just so you have proof of it not being your fault, you are part of the cause that makes the cost of insurance go up for everyone else. Your logic just makes everyone else pay more and makes it look like you are a con artist.

Poolchick, it was sarcasm. When people do smart things like avoid accidents, and end up in an accident, ICBC screws them to the wall, creating a situation whereby it is self serving to do the more damaging course of action in order to get a fair result.

Say a vehicle pulls out in front of you, no time to stop, you swerve into the ditch, and he takes off. You end up a paraplegic, ICBC says you drove into the ditch – you can’t prove there was another vehicle, so too bad for you, other than accident benefits, you get no real help. And yet, if you can just hit him enough to make him stop, or prove he was there, then they pay all sorts of benefits to you. It’s a ridiculous scenario that ICBC causes through their inability to be fair.

The car in this picture – who knows what really happened, but if he/she did swerve to preserve life and property, he’s on his own now as far as ICBC is concerned, unless the party that caused it, sticks around, and nowadays, a lot of people have no problem with running.

Yes you are correct in the scenarios and I understand what you mean now that you posted a second time but there still are a lot of ppl that do come forward as witnesses. Would be nice if every time there were witnesses and nobody did hit and runs but I still, myself, would avoid hitting someone if I could and not cause damage to myself like going in a ditch. If I had the choice of me in a ditch or hitting someone, then obviously I would hit them instead. That’s just not what I got from your first post. Have a great weekend!

360º of recorded audio visual cams would be the answer but I imagine this would be pricey.

Why would anyone crash their car over a dog falling out of a pickup?
