Prince George, B.C.- The UN flag  has been raised at Prince George City Hall, to mark  the  69th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.

The City of Prince George has proclaimed today “United Nations Day” in recognition of the anniversary.  The flag raising also celebrates the establishment of a United Nations Association branch in Prince George.  The branch  exists so members  of the public can have a voice  in the  UN’s work on global issues such as poverty, development, human rights,  peace and security and environment.
