Prince George, B.C. – The College of New Caledonia is asking local health professionals to donate their scrubs to help fund CNC’s Making a Difference bursary.

The annual scrub drive provides five $500 bursaries to health science students at the college in financial need.

The scrubs must be washed, in good shape and recyclable for others to use and can be donated by any health professional.

They can be dropped off at the CNC library, Lakewood Dental, or the Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation office at the University Hospital of Northern BC until October 28.

The donated scrubs will then be sold for $5 each on October 29 at the CNC Gathering Place from 10 am to 2 pm.

The scrub drive has been organized by CNC nursing instructor Nancy Esopenko who says the bursaries “make a huge difference in the lives of students,” and is a way for health professionals to “give back.”

Since the first scrub drive in 2011, she says the event has raised $4,750.
