Prince George, B.C. – 19 teams packed the John McInnis Centre tonight for the the Canadian Cancer Society and Coast to Coast Against Cancer’s Inside Ride.

Organizer Sandra Blackwell says the the team-based indoor-cycling challenge raised over $18,742 with all proceeds going to support Camp Goodtimes – the summer camp for children with cancer and their families.

A cancer survivor herself, she says the camp “offers a place to be a kid. Not the kid with cancer.”

People of all ages formed teams including 12 year old’s Kyra Reie and Adam Flett who together raised over $1,000 through donations, a bottle drive and a wacky hat day at school.

Reie felt inspired to help by some of the people she knows.

“There’s a lot of people I know that have been touched by cancer – my uncle, grandpa, and Adam’s mom.”
