Prime Minister Stephen Harper was to address the nation at 4:45  Pacific time, but that  has been delayed, and the reason for the delay  has not been revealed.

Meantime,  the CBC  is reporting MP’s who have been   in a lockdown at the Parliament buildings  are being escorted   out  of the area.

Security remains  tight in the area around the  Parliament buildings.
