PM Offers Thoughts and Prayers to Families of Dead and Injured

Wednesday, October 22, 2014 @ 5:18 PM

Ottawa, – Prime Minister Stephen Harper  called the events of today  “a despicable attack” says  “In the days to come we will learn more  about the terrorist and any accomplices he may have had., But this weeks events are a grim reminder that Canada is not immune to the  kinds of attacks we have seen elsewhere around the world.”

He says  “Let there be no misunderstanding,  we will not be intimidated, Canada will never be intimidated, in fact this will lead us to strengthen our resolve and redouble our efforts and those of our national  security agencies.”

He says it will also  strengthen Canada’s resolve to work with allies around the world “and fight against the terrorist organizations who  brutalize those in other countries with the hope of bringing their savagery to our shores. They will have no safe haven.”

So where were these terrorists radicalized? What mosques where involved. The time to be PC is over.

I think to start, we need to stop calling them terrorists and instead refer to them for what they really are… cowards. Giving them the label of terrorist just fuels their desires of destruction. For example the news anchors could start calling this most recent event a “cowardly attack” instead of a terrorist attack.

Agreed Pylot.

Since when did “terrorist” acquire a positive connotation?

At least the CBC refers to terrorists as such. The BBC insists on referring to Islamic terrorists as “millitants” and rioters as “demonstrators”.

Why give them any power or prestige by calling them terrorists? Do they really belong to an international organization? The driver of the car that killed a soldier in Quebec was described by his neighbours as needing psychiatric help. The lunatic in Ottawa has been arrested for drugs on numerous occasions, including the possession of PCP,which according to Wikepedia can cause

“Psychological effects include severe changes in body image, loss of ego boundaries, paranoia, and depersonalization. Hallucinations, euphoria, and suicidal impulses are also reported, as well as occasional aggressive behavior.[33]:48–49[38] Like many other drugs, phencyclidine has been known to alter mood states in an unpredictable fashion, causing some individuals to become detached, and others to become animated. PCP may induce feelings of strength, power, and invulnerability as well as a numbing effect on the mind”

I remain to be convinced that there is a large international conspiracy at work. I think it is much more likely that we are dealing with home grown crazies that put on the mantle of ISIS to justify their crazy behaviour. The fact that at least the first nutbar was being watched by the RCMP and CSIS, and had his passport confiscated, indicate that he was a known problem. Why was he not in a loony bin for observation?

As if this is a surprise, they are telling us exactly what they are about to do, we just choose to believe differently. Sharia law can’t be that bad can it.

call them what you want but at the end of the day put a short rope around their neck with a long drop

Why can’t we block the internet sites that are having a field day inciting extremism? Yes, I know about freedom of speech and all that but this is war.
It seems pretty clear that this is where most of this is coming from. Don’t let the perpetrators of hate have a voice in our country and perhaps mentally unstable wouldn’t be influenced by them.
