It’s Time

Saturday, November 1, 2014 @ 4:03 AM

Prince George, B.C.-  Tonight’s the night we gain an hour of sleep as Daylight Saving Time ends..

Clocks  are to be set back  one hour  before  you  go to bed tonight.

According to ICBC, the time change can have an impact  on drivers. In the two  weeks following the time change, ICBC  stats show a 16% increase in the average number of crashes in the late afternoon in B.C. compared to the two weeks before  the switch is made.

The extra hour of sleep doesn’t  translate to  safety says ICBC as a survey it conducted indicated 30% of drivers overcompensate for that hour by staying up later.

A psycholoogist with ICBC, Dr. John Vavrik has  stated in the past that people  rationanalize that extra hour of sleep, “Many of us think that we can stay awake longer, but we actually end up feeling more tired and less alert.”

Time to end this nonsense.

Agree!

I agree as well

Yes! They should just turn it back 30 minutes and never touch it again!

30 minutes? Then we can be out of sync with everybody… except Newfoundland.

Perfect! Anything wrong with that? Seems to me Newfoundland hasn’t suffered all these years by being “out of sync” by half an hour, never heard any complaints.

Except that the world will end at 12:00, 12:30 in Newfoundland

No, we should just leave the clocks alone.

Yes, leave the clocks on standard time. This change is an inconvenience and a waste of time!
