Prince George Police Busy on Halloween

Prince George, B.C. – There was plenty of activity to keep local law enforcement busy on Halloween, however police are pleased that there are no major incidents to report.

Cpl Craig Douglass with the Prince George RCMP detachment says there were increased calls for service, as there usually are on weekends, however he says untypically, no one was taken into custody to be held for court appearances.

Seven people were held in the drunk tank overnight, police stopped three impaired drivers, “we had mischief complaints, noise complaints and we attended several calls to fights. A lot of this is not unusual for a Friday, just the frequency.”

Cpl Douglass says “we attended about ninety calls for service. In addition to that we conducted numerous traffic stops, many checks of licensed establishments, and went to many Halloween parties that had received liquor licenses. We were certainly very busy and did have increased resources on the road, but overall nothing major, so we’re very happy about that.”

Cpl Douglass says there were several suspicious incidents, the kind usually carried out by trick-or-treaters, and they were attended to and dealt with.
