Party Time at Civic Plaza
Prince George, B.C. – Today marks 100 days before the Canada Winter Games opening ceremonies in Prince George.
The milestone will be celebrated starting with the official renaming of the Civic Centre Plaza at 4:30. The newly landscaped Plaza will be named Canada Games Plaza.
Then, at the YMCA on Massey Drive, the focus is on the torch, as the torch relay begins at 5. The torch will wind its way through the bowl area of the City, and wrap up at Canada Games Plaza at 7 p.m. This will be the kick off to the “Illuminate the North” relay which will see regional celebrations in Quesnel, Ft. St. John and Terrace before the torch returns to Prince George for he opening ceremonies.
In the Plaza, the site of medal presentations for the upcoming Games, entertainment and fun with the whole event wrapping up at 8:30 this evening with fireworks.
