Assault Suspect Arrested
Prince George, B.C. – A 23 year old former Ft. Ware man is in custody in Prince George, and facing possible assault charges.
Around 2:30 this morning, Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a Domestic Assault in progress at a residence on Corless Crescent in the City.
Officers immediately attended and located an adult female victim in the residence. The adult male suspect had fled the residence prior to police arrival. Attempts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful. The victim was removed from the residence for her safety.
Just before 7 this morning, officers located the suspect when he returned to the residence. According to police, “The suspect was in distress and failed to comply with police instructions. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the University Hospital of Northern BC for mental and physical assessment and treatment of injuries unrelated to the use of the conducted energy weapon or the arrest.
At 11:36 AM, the male suspect escaped custody from the hospital and fled on foot. General Duty officers contained the area and a Police Service Dog team began to track the suspect .
At approximately 12:20 PM, the suspect was apprehended with the assistance of Police Service Dog ‘Azar’ in a residence on McBride Crescent in Prince George. The suspect was returned to the University Hospital of Northern BC for continuation of his treatment and treatment of bite wounds.
Prince George RCMP will be recommending several charges to Provincial Crown Counsel including:
- Assault
- Resist Arrest
- Attempting to Disarm a Police Officer
- Escape Lawful Custody

Boy, Azar must be getting a real taste for criminal blood! Good boy! I hope his handler gave him his favourite treat!
As for the ‘alleged’ perp, seems he doesn’t know when he’s better off.
i hope the guy is being detained until his court date! I worry for the victim.
