Hope everyone is ok. That intersection is getting scary!
Ah, our daily west corridor accident. Can we just park an officer at each set of lights 24 hours a day to hand out tickets? This is rediculous
Hope no one was hurt too badly. Be careful folks, those worthless baubles you go in search of out West aren’t worth risking your lives for.

How about,”keep left excet Pass”. I thought Geeorge was a big City why would they have cops at every intersection. What you need is driving schools
Cheers
Might be a good time to grease it up.lol. I hope noone is hurt.
Gotta love when there’s no facts about what even happened. Just people speculation comments as per usual. When there is facts not one person says anything about traffic accidents. Go figure.
Where’s the speculation, Pool? Maybe your reading comprehension isn’t what you thought it was?

The intersection had nothing to do with this crash. It was just an observer. Many drivers on the other hand can be classified as “scary”.

Tickets for what? Oh and it’s ridiculous, not rediculous!
Don’t know what the cause of this incident was, but I’m with another poster previously who suggested the turn signal should be red and then go to through traffic. Think it may assist the late amber/red folks turning, at Vance, Ferry and 16.
ticket for what? Who knows? We have no idea what caused this accident nor the one that will happen before the end of the week out that corridor… but it is not the lights fault so someone is not following some rules. Obviously there are laws being broken constantly at these intersections for there to be accidents every day.
30,000 cars a day go through there. And with no problems.
The number one cause of accidents? Driver error.
It could be argued that they are not really “accidents”
Well it was likely one of three things, speed, distracted driving, or medical and the only one that is really acceptable is the last of the 3 and that cannot always be prevented——————–as well the left turn lane should only be on the turn signal and then it should go to red. That is too busy an intersection to be turning left with oncoming traffic and the same should happen at the Superstore turn.
The intersection was an observer?! That must be one smart intersection to perceive something and register it as being significant!
What about the thousands of cars per day that manage to negotiate that intersection without issue? Or must it be designed for those who aren’t as proficient at making a decision as to when to turn?
strictlyspeaking, how can an intersection be scary? Does it jump up and startle drivers as they are proceeding through it?
Poor drivers blame their equipment and resources.
Oh, and the crash at Willow River was the result of a high speed chase.
Scary is an adjective which can be used to describe a noun. A noun is a person, place or THING. An intersection falls into the category of things. The placement of the intersection, at the bottom of Peden Hill, makes it scary. People do twice the limit coming down that hill, making a left hand turn off Hey 16 toward Rona scary. In snowy and/or icy conditions, the combination of slippery conditions, a hill, speed and careless drivers makes that intersection… wait for it………. scary.
So you are agreeing that most accidents are driver error duhragon – so why would you ask what the tickets would be for? Or are you just being obtuse and trolling because you got called out on your own dangerous driving habits?
People do 120 kmh down Peden Hill?
Who is agreeing that most accidents are driver error ineptor? What dangerous driving habits do you speak of ineptor? If you are so inept that you don’t dim your high beams when other drivers are approaching before you blind them ineptor, you shouldn’t be permitted to drive in the dark. If you endanger the life of motorcyclists on our roads ineptor you shouldn’t have a licence.
Yawn
It horrifies me that an iq that low hauls 60,000 kgs on the highway
G’night
“Or must it be designed for those who aren’t as proficient at making a decision as to when to turn?”
Yes, it should be. A lot of people like to make snarky comments about those whom they perceive to be inferior drivers. That may or may not be true, but we need to remember that driving is not an elite activity legitimately restricted only to the most proficient, like formula 1 racing, but an activity that most of us need to engage in. The road system should therefore be designed to accommodate a wide range of drivers, the less proficient as well as the expert, the tired, sick, bored, and upset as well as those fit and fully focussed on driving. It is reasonable to exclude the truly incompetent and reckless from the roads, but it is not reasonable to expect every driver to be perfect or even near perfect.

Speed limit is 60 kmh, it is difficult to negotiate the turn at 20 over. Doing twice the limit would definitely result in a trip to the rhubarb or the concrete blocks unless you were in a Vette or Ferrari designed for high speed cornering. I would venture a guess they do the same speed going up as coming down, maybe even faster going up as it gives the driver the illusion of more control while on the gas as opposed to on the brakes
Slinky…..you nailed it. The road is designed for a safe speed of 60 kph. The majority of drivers are not only exceeding the speed limit but they are also exceeding their driving skill.
“Oh, and the crash at Willow River was the result of a high speed chase.”
Not surprising that some folks will comment what they hear and find out later it was not the truth.
Very sad to hear another person passed away.
That is what I meant, billposer. My previous post was not meant to be taken as a superior vs. inferior situation.
As I mentioned, thousands of cars pass by there daily safely without incident. That being said, mistakes and errors in judgment are going to be made causing ‘accidents’ for lack of a better word. How much better that intersection can be designed so that accidents won’t happen is up for speculation, and I would surmise it’s not possible to make all intersections accident or risk-free.
Driving itself isn’t a risk free activity, and it is one thing many take for granted. Staying in the moment is critical.
