Preparations in Place for Remembrance Day
Prince George, B.C. – Final preparations are in place for tomorrow morning’s Remembrance day ceremony at the Civic Centre.
Events manager Myles Tycholis says his staff completed their set up over the weekend and says all three auditoriums will be in use.
He expects a capacity crowd of 1,500 people and suggests those planning on attending arrive early to secure a seat (doors open at 8 am, the ceremony starts at 9:15 am).
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 president Bruce Gabriel expects interest in Remembrance Day from the general public will be much higher due to the murder of two Canadian soldiers, Corporal Nathan Cirillo and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, last month.
Meanwhile North District RCMP Corporal Dave Tyreman says police will be participating in ceremonies across the province including Prince George.
He says they are mindful of recent events and will be taking extra precautions noting “additional resources will be in place to ensure that the participants and the public remain safe.”
But he also says in order to protect officer and public safety “it would be irresponsible to discuss security measures.”
Once the service at the Civic Centre is complete, a march to the Cenotaph will begin at 10:45 am which will be followed by two minutes of silence at 11:00 am.

Would be nice if buses were running for those without a vehicle. I’m sure more people would attend
Imhope they left a spot for vetrans in the parade and not just for club members.
Cheers
