MVI Behind Power Outage in Chetwynd
Chetwynd, B.C. – It could be 4:00 this afternoon before power is restored to a handful of BC Hydro customers in Chetwynd. The power has been off since about 8 last night.
That’s around the time RCMP in Chetwynd got a number of calls about a dump truck, towing two trailers and one of the trailers was raised, hooking on to the power lines in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven.
There were also reports that power lines on Nicholson Road, near the 4800 block of North Access Road in Chetwynd had been pulled down.
A suspect vehicle was located, tangled in power lines.
The driver of the vehicle is now the focus of an impaired driving investigation.
Anyone who may have witnessed the suspect vehicle being driven erratically is asked to contact the Chetwynd RCMP at 250-788-9221
