Police Investigate Suspected Arson at PG Hospital

Monday, November 10, 2014 @ 11:04 AM

Prince George, B.C. – One person is in police custody following a suspected arson at the University Hospital of Northern BC last night.

Prince George RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass says the alleged incident occurred just after 10:00 pm in a bathroom near the hospital’s Emergency Room waiting room.

After receiving word of thick smoke in the area, he says an officer entered the bathroom and extinguished a small fire that police believe had been deliberately set.

Douglass says information provided to police resulted in the arrest of a 21 year old Prince George woman in the Emergency Room parking lot.

He says the woman resisted arrest and assaulted one of the officers.

Douglass says she was held in custody overnight and will be making her first court appearance later today.

We need to have two Emergency rooms at the Hospital one for the problem people and one for families,go and sit there for 5 hours and you will see what I mean. The people working in the Emergency at he Hospital have more than can handle.

I should have said the people working in the Emergency at the hospital have more than they can handle.

Oh, I don’t about that. I was in there in EXTREME pain once, and the nurses should have been more busy then what they were. There I was almost screaming in pain, it hurt soooo bad, and the nurses were standing very close to me but, not with me and they were so busy discussing what hair color they should all get their hair done….and me moaning in soooo much pain. They choose to ignore me totoally until the Dr. looked at me. No compassion at all….their hair was for sure the most important thing. By the was, my problem was very serious and I was kept in the hospital for 10 days. It still makes me very angry, when I remember crying for someone and they didn’t come to me at all. Very sad world sometimes.

Back to the original article, makes me wonder what bathroom fires are naturally caused?

sunnyday 2 you omitted the most important part of your story. What was the final resolve of the nurses hair colours, blond, red , streak or other? In addition you mentioned that” There I was almost screaming in pain” could you explain how does one who almost scream, and do you hear the scream only in your head? If no one is there to hear a scream , is there still a sound?

I am guessing blond on the hair colour. ☻

I don’t know Slinky, there are times I would not have any ignition sources near my bathroom. ;)

Spontaneous combustion. Followed by spontaneous attempt to flee the scene! :-)

Maybe she was just lighting a match to hide the smell and things got out of hand. She may have been fleeing so she wasn’t associated with the toxic smell she left behind. On a more serious note, I am glad it was brought under control in a hurry.
