Stuart McLean Bringing Vinyl Cafe to P.G.
Prince George, B.C.- On the weekend Prince George turns 100, Prince George residents will have an opportunity to attend a performance of Stuart McLean’s Vinyl Café .
On Sunday March 8th, (2 days after the actual birthday), McLean brings his Vinyl Café to the CN Centre.
The show, is being billed as a presentation of the 100th Anniversary Committee, but Committee Chair Murry Krause says that is a tag being added to many events over the coming year. Krause says the Committee has no financial involvement in bringing McLean and his show to Prince George.
It has been 20 years since McLean started sharing his unique brand of story telling with CBC listeners, a program that is heard weekly by more than 2 million people.
While Prince George and area residents will be invited to hear the show live, it will be recorded and broadcast three times in the next two years, meaning P.G. will share this birthday event with more than 6 million people.
While this won’t be the first time McLean has performed in Prince George, it will be the first time he has appeared at the CN Centre, a venue considerably larger than his previous stop at Vanier Hall.
Tickets for the event will go on sale Monday, November 17th at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets.
