Doggie Fashion Show at CNC
Prince George, B.C. – It was pooches on display Saturday at the 11th annual CNC Doggie Fashion Show.
Dogs and their human companions donned all sorts of outfits and paraded along the catwalk (who said cat?) which was set up along the Gathering Place at the college. They competed in two divisions, 12 and under and general, and were judged in categories including Best in Show, Most Original, Best Human/Doggie Co-ordination, Best Doggie Personality and the People’s Choice Award.
The entries included dogs of all shapes and sizes and breeds and combinations of breeds. And for the most part the dogs were well-behaved, as were their humans. There was a small display of pre-show jitters and frayed nerves off-stage as two of the competitors gave each other an earful over barking rights (right), but once that was settled emcee Joel Petersen successfully put the pups through their paces.
The entry fee was $10 per dog, and there were tables available for $20 for those taking part in the trade show. All of the proceeds are donated to the efforts of the North Cariboo SPCA.
And judging by the turnout and enthusiasm of dog lovers both old and young, the 12th annual CNC Doggie Fashion Show will show up about this time next year.
