City of Prince George Seeking Top Volunteers

Prince George, B.C. – If you know a dedicated volunteer then the City of Prince George would like to hear from you.

From now until January 7th the city is accepting nominations for outstanding volunteers in four areas:

The Recreation and Culture Award: Recognizes contribution to the development of recreation and culture in Prince George for a minimum of 10 years.

The Community Service Award: Recognizes contribution to the development of the community service scene in Prince George for a minimum of 10 years.

The Youth of the Year Award: Recognizes school involvement, including academic standing, extra-curricular activities and volunteer committees, as well as contributions to the community through volunteering.

The Outstanding Volunteer of Merit Award: Recognizes outstanding contributions to the development of Prince George through volunteer efforts to a number of organizations, groups or disciplines. Candidates for this award must have at least 15 years of volunteer experience.

The awards will be handed out at the Civic Appreciation Dinner at the Civic Centre on March 6th as part of the city’s centennial celebrations.
