Games Medal Design Secret For Now
Prince George, B.C. – The design of the medals that will be awarded to athletes at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George won’t be made public until the very last minute.
The Games had issued a call for designs for the front of the medal in June. At that time, it was expected the winning design would be made public in September.

About 45 submissions were made.
Teck sponsored the medals for the 2013 Games in Sherbrooke, is the exclusive metals supplier for the 2015 Games in Prince George, and the next three Canada Games after that.
In the case of the 2013 Games in Sherbrooke, Teck didn’t want the design revealed until the day of the opening ceremonies. 250News has been told that is the plan for the 2015 Games as well.
It is expected that Teck will once again call on the Royal Canadian Mint to produce the medals.
More than a thousand medals will be awarded during the 2015 Games in Prince George.

Let’s just hope the medal design represents PG and BC and ALL its people, not just a certain group.
