Prince George, B.C. – Second year elementary education students are holding a children’s art gala tonight at UNBC.
Entitled “Celebration of Creation” it features the art work of elementary students from various schools in Prince George and Kimberley.
“There’s some Halloween art, Remembrance Day art, some fall and winter themed art,” says student-teacher Kaarina Fletcher.
Crystal Beach’s social studies students at Heritage Elementary School focused on cave art as an extension of their focus on early man.
“It was more to have them (students) bring social studies into real life to show they’ve learned something other than just a project or a test.”
The gala is taking place at the Bentley Centre and runs until 7:00 p.m.
