New Team Sworn In Tonight
Prince George, B.C. –The new mayor and council will be sworn in this evening, with a brief ceremony set to get underway in Council Chamber at 6 tonight.
Mayor- elect Lyn Hall says Lheidli T’enneh Chief Dominick Frederick will be on hand to offer some opening remarks, “Councillors will have an opportunity to say a few words, and then I will wrap it up with a few words on behalf of Mayor and council.”
There is an agenda for this evening, but basically, the new Mayor and Council will simply by receiving the final election results before the new business of adopting the Council meeting calendar for 2015, appointing the Acting Mayors for the full four year term. Each month will see a different Councillor appointed as “Acting Mayor” in the event Lyn Hall is unable to. Council will then be called upon to approve the schedule for those acting mayors.
Hall has had a chance to huddle with the new Council members, “I’ve met with all the Councillors and I have had an opportunity to get to know the new Councillors a bit better and find out what committees they would like to sit on and just get an idea on where their interests are.”
Hall says he has a “real positive feeling about the new group, One of the things that I want to make sure we do, is match the committees to their strengths and areas that they are really interested in and that really came out in the meetings we’ve had so far.”
Hall says there will be an orientation meeting for Council on the 6th and 7th with the first full Council meeting on December 15th.

They work for CUPE don’t they? :)
I guess we will see who their masters truly are as soon as anything to do with CUPE comes up.
