Fatal Crash Closes Highway 16 Near Burns Lake – Update

Prince George, B.C. – An 18 year old man is dead following a single vehicle rollover along Highway 16 near Burns Lake just before 6:00 this morning.

North District Corporal Dave Tyreman says the crash, which happened 20 km east of town by the Augier Main Forest Service Road, has closed traffic in both directions.

He says the 18 year old was the lone occupant in the vehicle and notes a cause has not been determined yet.

A detour is available via Tibbets Road and Augier FSR (2 km) with a pilot car for all traffic.

Police have not released the name of the deceased.
