Fire Levels Barn
Prince George, B .C. -Volunteer Firefighters from Pilot Mountain Fire Department were called into action to a barn fire on Knoedler Road in the north edge of Prince George last night.
Pilot Mountain Fire Chief Gil Lainey says they got the call around 7 p.m. and were assisted by volunteers from the Ness Lake Volunteer Fire Department as well as volunteers from the Salmon Valley Fire Department.
“Unfortunately, the barn was too engulfed to save” says Chief Lainey, “But we were able to prevent the flames from spreading to adjacent buildings, and the tree line.”
Firefighters were on scene for about 4 hours.
The barn was being used for storage of vehicles and a boat, there were no animals at risk.
No injuries reported and there is no estimate of damage yet. Chief Lainey says although the cause of the fire is undetermined, it is possible a wood stove used to heat the barn may be responsible.

A big thank you to all volunteer firefighters.
The ones on scene at this fire prevented it from spreading to other structures and destroying even more property.
