Unemployment Rate Slips Slightly in P.G.
Prince George, B.C.- The unemployment rate in Prince George last month was 4.3%, only slightly down from the 4.5% recorded in November of last year. The change says Stats Canada’s Vincent Ferrao, is not statistically significantly. There were 1600 more people working in Prince George last month, bringing the numbers of employed to 51 thousand, up from the 49,500 who were working in November of last year.
For the Cariboo region, the unemployment rate was up slightly , sitting at 4.7% last month, compared to 4.4% a year ago. As for the number employed, it dropped to 83,900, down from 84,300 who had jobs in November last year.
“British Columbia saw a good twelve month period” says Ferrao. Employment was up 2% with 47 thousand more people people working. The unemployment rate over that same period dropped to 5.8% down from the 6.7% in November of last year.
Nationally, there was very little change. The new rate is 6.6%, down from the 6.9% recorded in the same month a year ago.

I suspect there is a typo. It is likely you mean 1600 more people working not 16,000.
