T.J. Grewal to Stand Behind Doherty
Prince George, B.C.- Prince George businessman T.J. Grewal, has made a decision on who he will support in the Federal Conservative nomination for the riding of Cariboo-Prince George.
He will be standing behind Todd Doherty.
Grewal had planned on seeking the nomination, but was deemed not eligible because his length of membership fell short of the required time period by about a week.
“First, I would like to thank each and every person who showed support for me in my attempt at the nomination by either purchasing a membership or in assisting me in my efforts” said T.J Grewal “I am humbled by your support, and most grateful.”
“I am now asking my supporters to join me in standing behind Todd Doherty in his bid for the nomination.”
T.J. Grewal says he believes Todd Doherty will best serve the interests of this region “He has strong family ties not only in Prince George, but in Williams Lake as well, he has experience working with all levels of government. He is approachable, will listen to the needs of this riding, and I believe he will work hard on your behalf.”
T.J. Grewal says he wishes the other two candidates the best in their efforts, and would like to again thank those who supported his bid “Again I am very grateful for the support this region has shown me in my efforts to seek the nomination and I hope that you will support my choice of Todd Doherty as your new choice.”
The voting dates for the nomination have been set , with ballots to be cast in Quesnel and Williams Lake on Friday December 12th, and in Vanderhoof and Prince George on Saturday December 13th. See our previous story for detailed information on times and locations.

I am supporting Todd as well. Nothing against Nick, but with Dick Harris and TJ backing Todd, I think the best chance to beat Shari is with Todd.
Best of luck Todd!
I am truly shocked by TJ’s decision. What’s his game? Todd’s relevant experience pales in comparison to Nick’s. This is just bizarre. i’ll be voting for Nock as I want a guy who knows what he is doing.
I agree…. I will vote for Todd also… big reason is we can’t split the vote and let Green any ware near politics ever again…
PGJ, that’s the only way to ensure Green is gone.
What’s the opinion of who leads with support? Is it green, Doherty, or Fedorkew? (spelling, sorry)
Great choice TJ! Now, we need a united front on this, add Nick Fedorkiw into the mix and we will vindicate every negative action this woman has taken over the last 6 years. Those people include a long list of pi**ed off conservatives down in WL and Quesnel over the riding association takeover, Haldi road residents, artsy fartsy people, the good people on the Hart Hwy, people who hate unnecessarily expensive service core reviews, the anti dike building crowd, community policing, firefighters, the PGX crowd, downtown business people, seniors, youth, people who like to swim, people who like to read, people who like to drive on properly cleared streets, anti bully supporters, all the major media, golfers, city workers, non profits, the Brian Skacun fan club , the anti Stolz fan club, anyone that voted for Lyn Hall and a good chunk of Zurowski voters, and people that appreciate democracy in our political system. Yes, we need a united front!
As usual it will come down to getting out the vote.
Green has been working to get this nomination for at least a year or more. I expect at the outset she felt that she was a shoo in, however things have changed.
The first vote is the important one. If any of the three can take 51% then they get the nomination. However if no ones gets 51% then the person with the least amount of votes drops out. That’s when it gets interesting.
Lets say that no one gets 51% and Fedorkiw has the least amount of votes. Where will his supporters go for the second ballot??? Or if Green gets the least amount and drops out, where will her votes go?? I doubt that any Green votes would go to Doherty, however who knows???
Very important to take it on the first ballot.
Hmm… What does a bully do when they get cornered? They come out swinging, so what will SG and NF do? I suspect lots of mud will fly. Hang on!!
Well if it is going down to mud slinging then Green is in trouble.. she has done nothing for PG while mayor but made our city worse. Over spending, worst snow removal, rain tax, etc.. she is TOAST..
The anti-Green movement doesn’t need to worry about vote splitting. There is no need for Nick supporters to strategically vote for Todd or vice versa. If you don’t want Green, just make sure you vote for your first choice and name the other candidate as your second choice.
The only way there would be a vote splitting problem is if a voter only selects their first choice and doesn’t list their second choice.
Thanks tj. Classy move.
Now everyone vote Todd 1st, nick 2nd and green 3rd.
Everyone is happy!
Now everyone vote Todd 1st, nick 2nd and green 3rd.
———
Or just vote Todd 1st, Nick 2nd and leave the third blank.
Way to go TJ, Thank you, My vote is for Todd!!!
Why would anyone even put Shari anywhere on the ballot. Todd 1st, Nick 2nd……..:…:period!
I will gladly leave third place vacant if that hurts green more.
Does anyone have any definitive info on how this voting system works though?
Or is it just speculation?
Please post any concrete info on how to vote with maximum effectiveness to vote green out!
Hmmmm, I am shocked at TJ’s decision. Todd’s experience pales in comparison to Nick’s. Nice enough, but I just can’t vote for him. My vote remains with Nick; he’s the best guy to represent us in Ottawa.
@history, Nick’s has VERY strong support….which is why I am surprised by TJ’s decision.
@kolberg, Good point. I don’t think Shari stands a chance at this point. I think we should vote for who we want to represent us.
@Lildigger easy convince Nick to step aside and everyone vote for Todd. As simple as that. If Nick has less than 1,000 voters he should step down. Hopefully he will see the light and not be bull headed. We will see!
Desirous needs to step aside and support Dougherty.
The mean grean stinky machine needs to be tossed out with Stolz and Wilbur.
2 outta 3 ain’t bad but the last one in this case is the most important to get rid of.
why does everybody think that every Indo-Canadian will vote along with TJ. And why is everybody suddenly happy with a candidate that Dick Harris endorsed. That should be a no no to start with. Harris hasn’t been popular at all. Second largest spending for spousal trips between all MPs and where are his achievements for this area ? I don’t think it plays any roll whom Caron endorses and TJ is just badly consulted and blinded by a sick chase trying to beat Green. This move will sadly catch up with him with his next political ambitions. Just wrong, one should wonder what else triggered it.
Vote for Fedorkiw the most solid candidate in the race with the right education and best experience within Federal Government. Vote for Fedorkiw with your first vote !
PGGUYY, get real, Fedorkiw has probably signed up more members than Dougherty. If there are 3150 members and the number that Grewal claims is true, and there is no doubt that Fedorkiw says the truth, actually the only candidate that has never never been sneaky about the numbers, that leaves about 1000 for Green and Dougherty together. I wouldn’t underestimate Green so voting Dougherty in means voting in the weakest link. Allowing Grewal to influence the vote, well guys think about it. You really want that to happen ? I say Fedorkiw is the right choice if anybody cares to do something right
I am behind Todd Doherty all the way, Listening to him and knowing him, He is the number one to vote for. I talked to Nick, nice guy not suited for this job. Vote for Todd, YES !!!!!!You are the BEST!!!!
Nice try philomena.
Nick is toast.
Todd is God.
Goodnight Shari.
^^I can’t believe I just read that.^^
My first choice is Nick. He is by far the more solid honest candidate. Something as serious as this one can’t just vote for the perceived winner.
With a transferable ballot, this is the best voting system because the winner needs a solid majority. I don’t think we get a winner first round so second choice will likely be the winner. I don’t think Todd voters will vote for Green and vice versa. Nick will likely have the second choice locked up and so only needs to survive the first ballot to win. I think Nick beats Green on the first ballot through his hard work signing up members old school door to door and then takes the nomination with Green supporters second choice.
At the end of the day one should vote for their priority as to who will represent the riding best and not a god complex as above or based on a negative vote against someone giving a candidate the back door entrance. It’s not good for politics and not necessary with a system like the STV. For for positive reasons and hold your head up with some dignity at the voting both.
Should have read vote for positive reasons…. Have some dignity with your vote.
Wonder if the green camp is on here trying to split the opposition vote.
Could they be guilty of such things?
For positive reasons I vote for Todd,
For real reasons I vote for Nick.
For the people in the region and those that need to go the PM’s office with a federal government issue, I support Todd.
It is not about me, it is about the people in the Cariboo-Prince George Region, getting the support and backing they need. Someone who will make a real difference for them. That requires someone who will listen with an open mind, I just don’t think the other two candidates will do that.

@digitus Impudicus – Nice to see you are original??
Hopefully one day you will be able to think for yourself and not use others words. Kind of like plagiarism.
